Like the Part 1, in the part 3, we also check and verify these abnormal addresses from source Sirin labs- token sale's contract (Read part 1, 2 for more details)

This address bought SRN via SirinLabs_RefundVault by Function: buyTokensWithGuarantee.
It means that after ICOs cycle, you can cancel your order and receive a refund for the cancelled one
Someone made another big purchase of SRN via normal term. It means that he/she send ETH and wait for getting SRN token in his/her wallet

On Dec 12,2017, he/she bought 5M SRN (about 10k ETH). On Jan 24, 2017, he/she got his SRN token in wallet

Bancor & Sirin labs story ?

🔘 Sirin labs Crowdsale Contract Audit

SRN token is a SmartToken, implementing Bancor's SmartToken contract
Note that the token contract is built to fit into the Bancor smart contracts, and as such have the following functions defined: disableTransfers(...), issue(...) and destroy(). The token contract owner can use these functions to disable the transfer of tokens, mint new tokens and burn any account's tokens. These functions are implemented in LimitedTransferBancorSmartToken

🔘 About Bancor's hack story

Some articles quotes:
What Went Wrong?
There are many hints that the malicious behavior actually started a few days ago. On July 9th, at around 12AM (UTC), about 22,000 of EtherTokens were withdrawn from the BancorConverter smart contract by the 0x009bb5e9fcf28e5e601b7d0e9e821da6365d0a9c account. The tokens, in addition to other tokens which were retrieved in a similar way, were used for some buying and selling operations and were eventually “cashed out.”
First of all, it’s important to note that the 0x009bb5e9fcf28e5e601b7d0e9e821da6365d0a9c address was a designated “owner” of the BancorConverter smart contract (a widely used Solidity access restriction design pattern).
As part of Bancor’s safety hatch/backdoor (which was criticized by Udi Wertheimer here and followed Bancor’s response here), this address was granted special permission to withdraw any deposited funds:
This feature, alongside the ability to forcefully issue, burn, and transfer any Bancor Smart Tokens tokens, was introduced as a security countermeasure, but it definitely looks like it has backfired.

🔘 How should we understand these abnormal transactions??

I am a financial auditor. I am specially interested in following and tracking project via cash flow. I am not IT Engineer, programmer, coder or blockchain developer, so I can’t understand everything clearly. Please check it if you are IT or blockchain professionals.

A half truth! A part of the whole truth! All they know how to play with words!
